Independent Algeria
Sale covers with the first stamps of independent Algeria.
In November 1962, the new republic decided to issue stamps specifically for Algeria and the first stamp featuring the national flag was issued in small numbers. At the same time, the French stamp dies were used, with bilingual captions and changes in color and value : 5 Algerian landscape stamps were issued. In January 1963, the Gloire de la Révolution and Retour à la paix series were put into service.
